Located at the corner of Camphill Road and Ring Road, the Village Green is comprised of the Café, Bakery, Coffee Shop, and Gift Shop. This is a social gathering place on weekends for many villagers as well as an attraction for visitors.
The Bakery and Coffee Shop
The Bakery features a wood fired oven from Spain that bakes all of the Village breads, rolls, and pizzas. Granola, cookies, biscotti, and other organic baked delights are also available. Staffed by co-workers and villagers, the Bakery creates a multitude of jobs from kneading dough to sweeping the floor. The Bakery is open to the general public daily from 2:30 to 5:00. Cookies and breads are available at select local retailers. During the summer and fall months, baked goods are sold at the Chatham Farmer’s Market and the Hudson Farmer’s Market.
A new addition to the Village Green is the Coffee Shop where anyone can stop by for a latte, cappuccino, or espresso and a fresh pastry. The Coffee Shop has comfortable seating for a casual conversation. It is open Tuesday – Friday from 9:00 – 12:00.

The Café
The Café is open for lunch at 12:30 every Tuesday and Thursday. A full meal with dessert is offered carefully prepared by a local cook and her staff of villagers. The Café fills with villagers, co-workers, and visitors for a tasty meal and good conversations. Each weekend a Village house staffs the Café in the afternoons for Village socializing.
The Gift Shop
The Camphill Village Gift Shop is a gift shopper’s delight. It features unique hand-crafted items from the Camphill Village craft workshops and fine products from the workshops of other Camphill communities worldwide. You will discover here delightful wooden toys and hand-made dolls, beautiful ceramics and engraved glass tumblers, stemware, bowls and vases, hand-dipped 100 percent beeswax candles of all sizes, fine art prints, hand-woven scarves and clothing and much more!
The Gift Shop also offers a fine selection of books on anthroposophy, curative education, social therapy, along with carefully chosen books for children, families, art lovers and crafts people.
